The Terre Haute Brewing Company is Indiana’s oldest – and America’s second oldest – brewery currently in operation. It opened in 1837. Home of the famous lager Champagne Velvet, the Brewing Company was forced to close during Prohibition, but in 1933, a reopened brewery produced 1.5 million barrels of beer per year.
