The Kaufman block building is found at the Southwest corner of the 7th and Wabash intersection known as the “Crossroads of America.” It is a commercial building constructed in Italianate style by Andrew Kaufman in 1863. Originally the home of Kaufman’s grocery and liquor store, this building has seen the coming and going of several prosperous businesses.
