Due to a mechanical failure in the 1950’s, the F-84 Fighter Jet was grounded for life and donated to the City of Terre Haute. In November of 1959 the plane was presented on the Southeast corner of the Courthouse lawn. In 2007 it found its current and permanent home at the F-84 Memorial Plaza. On May 24th that year the jet was dedicated at the Krietenstein American Legion Post 104.
