Dinning Homesite in Jeffersonville

Since the Civil War, uncounted Black farmers have been pushed off their land by mob violence. Dinning may be unique in the fact that he sued his attackers and won at a time when such violence was often accepted. The Dinnings fought for justice against their attackers while raising their family in Jeffersonville, Indiana. One of their Jeffersonville homes stood on the site before you, somewhere beneath a grassy lot next to Interstate 65.
