Revolutionary War

The Alexander Hamilton Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), erected this monument in July 2009 to honor patriots who served in the Revolutionary War and are buried in Johnson County. The seven foot tall obelisk is made from Georgia granite and honors the 34 men thought to be buried in county cemeteries. The DAR is a genealogy organization for women with ancestors who served in the Revolutionary War.
