Today, the McGrady-Brockman House is a playground of sorts for the historically minded. The ever-growing collection is sure to impress and no doubt worth a visit. The blue bison statue to the left of the front door was created as part of the statewide "Bison-tennial Public Art Project" to commemorate the state's bicentennial in 2016.

In 1859 Major Charles P. McGrady, former president of the Vincennes Gas Light Company and railroad contractor, had the home built in Gothic Revival architectural style. In the mid 1860s the home was sold to Joseph Pollock, who then had it remodeled…
