Showers Brothers Furniture Factory

For decades, the Showers Brothers Furniture Factory, located at 401 N. Morton Street, was a primary area employer, including for Black residents and women. In the early 1900s Showers Brothers Factory claimed to be the largest furniture factory in the world. The main Showers Brothers Factory building, seen on this letterhead, is now home to Bloomington's City Hall and Monroe County offices.
