Second Baptist Church

Several predominantly Black institutions were located in the historically integrated Near West Side neighborhoods. Second Baptist Church is located at 321 North Rogers Street. It was designed and built in 1913 by noted Black architect Samuel Plato. Second Baptist continues to serve a predominantly Black congregation and remains a vibrant part of the Near West Side neighborhood serving both the Bloomington community and the University.
